in Kaltenkirchen, Germany, with a focus on ecological timber frame construction. He graduated in 2011 as Diplom-Ingenieur (FH) / Graduate Engineer in Architecture at the HafenCity Universitaet Hamburg, Germany.
After working at an architecture firm specialising in energy-efficient

a research trip to South Africa made Mirko decide to stay in Cape Town.
In 2014, Mirko started a planning office company called, em.ty space (Pty)Ltd. which quickly developed into a company for planning and building timber construction. He’s been building timber homes in South Africa since 2017
